A handwoven throw in 100% baby alpaca, blending copper, chestnut, camel and soft grey. It reads warm without going bright, which is why it works as easily in a rustic room as a modern one.
Baby alpaca is not a young animal - it is the grade of fiber, the fleece from an alpaca's first shearing, and the finest the animal ever produces. Alpaca carries no lanolin, the grease in sheep's wool behind most wool itch and most wool allergies, so it is naturally hypoallergenic. Weight for weight it is warmer than wool and lighter than cashmere.
The surface is brushed, so it has a soft raised nap rather than a flat weave. At 51 by 71 inches it covers an adult on the sofa properly and is still light enough to leave on the bed year round.

Handwoven in Peru by artisan communities in the Andes, by a family-owned maker that works directly with the weavers and pays fair wages that build long-term work for their families. Ethically handcrafted, start to finish.

Orders ship from our workspace in Southern California, usually within 1-2 business days.
Textiles ship for $6, free over $100. Baskets ship for $16 to $28 depending on size, free over $150. Because the baskets nest inside one another, more than one size travels in a single carton and arrives together.
