ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
Two smaller handwoven napkins in Ethiopian cotton, each crossed by fine woven lines. In cedar, steel blue, navy, copper, gold or bronze.
At 16 inches square they sit between a cocktail napkin and a dinner napkin - right for drinks and appetizers, breakfast, lunch, or anywhere a full 20-inch dinner napkin is more cloth than you need.
They are woven on traditional looms with a hand-spun cotton weft, which gives the cloth its texture, and hemmed on every edge so they hold up to regular washing. The pattern is called Rift Valley, after the valley that runs through central Ethiopia.
Size - 16 x 16 inches (42 x 42 cm) each
Quantity - sold as a set of two, one color per set
Fiber - 100% Ethiopian cotton, hand-spun weft

Woven in a Fair Trade workshop in Ethiopia that has been woman-owned for over twenty years - a guaranteed member of the World Fair Trade Organization and a verified social enterprise. Hundreds of artisans are employed there at equitable pay.
100% natural fiber. Handwoven, so weave tension and color depth vary a little between napkins, including the two in your set. Made in Ethiopia.
Ethiopia has one of the oldest weaving traditions in East Africa. These napkins come from a workshop there that has been woman-owned for more than twenty years and employs hundreds of artisans at equitable pay.
They are woven on traditional looms from Ethiopian cotton, with a hand-spun cotton weft that gives the cloth its texture. The fine lines are woven into the cloth, not printed, and every edge is hemmed.
The pattern is called Rift Valley, after the valley that runs through central Ethiopia. It is the same collection as our Fine Line table runner and tea towel, in the same six colors.
The workshop has been a member of the World Fair Trade Organization since 2009 and a guaranteed member since 2019, fully verified against the ten principles of Fair Trade across its business and its supply chain. It is also a verified social enterprise, and it is assessed by independent auditors.

BUSH & BRIAR
Nature's Way is how I decide what earns a place in the shop. Six things, and every one of them is checkable on the product page above.
Natural Materials, named — I state the actual material, milulu grass, pure alpaca fiber, etc. rather than a vague adjective.
Woven by hand — not pressed, molded, or machine-made.
A named place — the region it was made in, taken from the maker's own labelling.
Bought outright — I own what I sell and pack it myself. Nothing here is drop-shipped.
Small quantities — often a single piece per size, because that is how it arrives.
No claim I cannot show you — if I cannot verify it, it does not go on the page.
Orders ship from my workspace in Southern California, usually within 1–2 business days.
Shipping is free on orders over $70. Orders under $70 ship for a flat $6.
I currently ship within the continental United States.
